End of the Year Favorite Moments: #10- Shared Belief wins the Santa Anita Handicap

Note: Until the end of the year I will be counting down my top favorite moments from this year.

It's hard to believe that this would be his final win of his career. Shared Belief had always shown that he was a special horse. After all he won both the Awesome Again and Pacific Classic the year before as a 3yo and was a Champion at 2. This was the big race on his resume that he was missing. With California Chrome heading to Dubai and Bayern not ready, he ended up facing horses who where not the best. Still there where challengers... and he did not disappoint.

Sadly he would make just one more start in his career at Charles Town where he was injured. On the comeback trail when the colic that eventually cost him his life happened. We will miss him dearly and hope that his connections can find one as great as him in the future.
