2016 Derby Top 10- Week 2

With the Risen Star and Fountain of Youth behind us, its time for a new Top 10 list. Quite a few changes to it.

1. Mohayman (70 points): Won the Fountain of Youth over Zulu who did not give up. The FL Derby is going to be interesting as several horses who other years would not be pointing towards the race this year are for bonus reasons.

2. Mor Spirit (24 points)- Remains in the 2nd spot for now. SA Derby next?

3. Gun Runner (51 points)- Looks like a very solid candidate after winning the Risen Star. Beautiful female as well being out of a 1/2 sister to HOY Saint Liam.

4. Nyquist (30 points)- Everyone is looking forward to the possible showdown between him and Mohayman. If he wins... then I really underestimated him.

5. Sunny Ridge (18 points)- Gotham on Saturday is next. I wonder if he really will be Wood bound now if he wins.

6. Mo Tom (22 points)- 3rd in the Risen Star was pretty good considering he was possibly interfered with. Hopefully he does well in the LA Derby.

7. Zulu (20 points)- Very nice 2nd in the FOY. Hopefully he can stay with the big 2 in the FL Derby.

8. Forevamo (20 points)- Needs to prove that his runner up finish in the Risen Star is not a fluke.

9. Greenpointcrusader (14 points)- Skipping the FOY may help than hinder him. Hopefully he's not too fresh.

10. Fellowship (12 points)- 2 Graded Stakes... 2 3rd place finishes. Could we be seeing the new Hal's Hope? We'll see how he does if he goes in the FL Derby.

Off the list

Airoforce- Poor Risen Star is likely going to knock him off the trail

Exaggerator- An okay 2nd against Nyquist has some question marks for me

Swipe- Still no starts this year. Bluegrass bound?

Discreetness- Poor effort in the Southwest.

The next list will be March 17. After that list is released, we will be going weekly until the week after the AR Derby.
