Way a go Blackfoot Mystery!

4 years ago US eventer Boyd Martin had a chance to bring an OTTB Neville Bardos, (Race Name: Hurtle (AUS) (Muhayaa) to the Olympics. Sadly Neville was not in form at the time and selection and Boyd went with a different non Thoroughbred.

4 years later Boyd went back to the Olympics, this time with a former Hollywood Park based horse named Blackfoot Mystery (Out of Place). After the cross country portion, Boyd and Blackfoot had an outside chance to medal, but sadly after some faults in the team portion of the show jumping (even though the US was ineligible after 2 of the team members where eliminated after the cross country portion) he was taken out of individual medal contention, but still qualified to jump a second time. He would end up finishing 16th in the competition.

Meanwhile Boyd's teammate Phillip Dutton won the Bronze with his horse Mighty Nice. Phillip is also a OTTB supporter and has a few well known Thoroughbreds under his care currently. Among them Preakness 3rd place finisher Icabad Crane (Jump Start), Derby runner up Commanding Curve (Master Command) and Water Cube (Rockport Harbor) who didn't have the career that the former two had, but is co-owned by Michael Phelps and his coach Bob Bowman.
