With the Breeders' Cup now over, it's time to focus on next year's possible Derby contenders. On Weds which is opening day of Aqueduct, the road to the Wood Memorial begins with the Nashua. Lets take a look at this year's field.

STAKES. 1 Mile Dirt. Purse $200,000. Nashua S. (Grade 2). FOR TWO YEAR OLDS. By subscription of $200 each which should accompany the nomination; $1,000 to pass the entry box and an additional $1,000 to start. For horses not originally nominated, a supplemental nomination payment of $2,000 along with the entry and starting fees may be made at any time prior to the closing of entries. The purse to be divided 60% to the owner of the winner, 20% to second, 10% to third, 5% to fourth, 3% to fifth and 2% divided equally among the remaining finishers. 122 lbs. Non-winners of a sweepstake allowed 2 lbs.; of $60,000 or two races, 4 lbs.; a race 6 lbs. (Maiden and claiming races not considered in allowances.) A trophy will be presented to the winning owner. Sunny Ridge (Holy Bull): Won the Sapling and was then second in the Champagne. The winner of the latter Greenpointcrusader was 7th in the Juvenile.
Jay's Way (Gone Astray): Won last two, Allowance/Optional Claimer and maiden win. Stakes debut.
Magna Light (Magna Graduate): 7th in the Champagne and 2nd in the Hopeful. Won the Sanford, but was DQ'ed to 3rd.
River Dell (Arch): Two starts with one win in his last. Stakes debut.
Pilot House (Midshipman): 1 race with 1 win. Stakes debut.
Sail Ahoy (Bernardini): 4th in the Champagne and broke maiden. Possibly the best bred horse in the race.
Mohaymen (Tapit): First time out winner. 1/2 brother to BC Juvenile winner New Year's Day.
Flexibilty (Bluegrass Cat): Winner in lone start. Stakes debut.
