Standing at Three Chimneys Farm

Profile: Caleb's Posse was a bit overlooked at the start of 3yo season when eyes where on Derby contenders like Animal Kingdom, Shackleford and Uncle Mo. While he never faced the Derby winner, he did defeat the Preakness and 2yo champion in the Dirt Mile and King's Bishop respectively.

That win in the Dirt Mile earned 2 Eclipse nominations (one in 3yo Male which he would lose to Animal Kingdom and one in Sprinter which he would lose to BC Sprint winner Amazombie) Caleb would finish second at 4 in the Tom Fool, Carter and to Shackleford in the Met Mile before an injury ended his career.

Sire: Posse is stakes winner at 2 and 3, also the sire champion sprinter of Kodiak Kowboy. Caleb is 2nd in earnings for him behind Kodiak Kowboy. In 2012 he picked up another G1 winner in Del Mar Futurity winner Rolling Fog.

Dam: Abbey's Missey was 0 for 3 in her career and hails from the same female family as stakes winner and millionare Mr. Ross.

Broodmare Sire: Slewacide was 0 for 1 in his career however has 3 millionaire sons Clever Trevor, Slew of Damascus and Mr. Ross. His best filly is G2 placed Slide Show. Abbey is not though his best daughter in the shed. That belongs to Belle's Good Cide, whose son is Derby and Preakness winner Funny Cide and daughter Rockcide is the dam to G1 placed Matrooh and Rule.

Preferred Surface: Although he clearly preferred dirt, Caleb's first 4 starts where on a synthetic surface (including a 3rd place finish in the Arlington-Washington Futurity). For that reason his foals should succeed on turf, dirt and synthetic.

Potential Success: Top 10 finish on the Freshman Stallion List with 2 or 3 graded stakes winners.
