Freshman Watch 2016: Introduction

While 2012 KY Derby and Preakness winner I'll Have Another won't be much of a factor on the North American Freshman standings due to him standing in Japan, there are still going to be a solid group of horses who will be this year. From now until late May, I will be featuring a stallion whose first crop are 2yo's this year. After the posts end, I will then be doing two updates; one will be at the middle of October just before the Breeders' Cup and the other will be in the final week of December. The updates will just be on the horses I feature and the leading sire for the freshman at the moment. Please note all these horses stand in North America (sorry fellow Frankel fans!). Also Animal Kingdom won't be a freshman stallion in the Northern Hemisphere until next year, so that is why he is not mentioned.
