3yo Female: Even though Songbird was the talk of the town, I'm not 100% sold on her being the tops of division this year. Then again right now all my eggs are in the Rachel's Valentina basket. Look out for Nickname, Street Fancy, and Lewis Bay.
3yo Male: Going to call it now... Nyquist will not be your KY Derby champion. The way he finished his last two races it was a little bit ugly. I really like Swipe, but pretty sure we will hear from some horses who haven't made stakes starts in the next few weeks. One of them could easily be Dolphus. Also like Mor Spirit and Mohaymen.
Older Female: This division has taken some lumps the past two years. Untapable and Sheer Drama (?) expected to return. Also last year's 3yo's, who weren't the best, should improve. That being said, if she stays healthy Beholder will rule this division.
Older Male: In what expected to a California dominated division last year, it turned out to be East Coast dominated. Even without American Pharoah, this is going to be a good division. Keen Ice, Frosted, California Chrome (if he can stay healthy), Runhappy (hopefully drama free), Jess's Dream (see CC), ect. The only rotten thing about this division is that we won't see Shared Belief (RIP boy).
Sprinters: I'm combining these two because honestly these are the two divisions that I always have a problem with. Although Runhappy will be the Champion Male Sprinter, the drama behind him is the first thing I will think about him. Also there are rumors that he is stretching out. If they keep him sprinting El Kabier could make some noise here. As for the females, I have no idea.
Turf Female: Like the Older Males, this division will take some hits due to retirements. However Tepin is scheduled to return. Plus hopefully we see more of Found, Legatissimo and others from Europe.
Turf Male: For the first time in awhile, I can say that this division is actually pretty solid. Om, The Pizza Man, Big Blue Kitten (if he stays in training), Twilight Eclipse. Golden Horn's retirement does stink, but no surprise there. We will likely see Solow this year with the BC being in California.
