Tomorrow is the G1 Vanity at Santa Anita. It will feature last year's 3yo Champ Stellar Wind, sprinting/mile sensation Taris and the surprise Santa Monica winner Lost Bus. However, if any of those three ladies are going to win, they will need to get past the reigning queen of the West, Beholder.
However, I think Beholder could be a bit vulnerable in the race and it's no fault of her own. It's the distance. You see this year the Vanity is at a mile which is a little bit short for Beholder, although she has won at the distance before at 3. Also she's now 6 and the oldest in the field. She's never faced the 3 fillies I mentioned before and all of them could snatch victory away from her. Even with those factors, I still see her coming on top for a few reasons. One despite those bad factors based on resume, she towers over this group. She is the fastest and frankly she has the most heart. I actually see Taris giving her the most difficulties, I think Stellar Wind could struggle just a little bit. Lost Bus will need to run the race of her life again in order to be a major factor.
