I was not aware the @NTRA was a political arm of the RNC... pic.twitter.com/E4h2t1qAOD— Dr. Degenerate (@PhDegen) July 19, 2016
However, this was not the first time an account associated with the NTRA had done this. Last September, the Breeders' Cup account did the same thing.
@FrostyFeast yes, they must have deleted when they realized that it was the wrong account. Here is a photo though pic.twitter.com/0PIdXCJG4F— Rachel Levine (@furlongdrive) September 17, 2015
The Breeders' Cup did delate the re-tweet, but never apologized for it. The NTRA did, but said they where hacked.
Apologies for any inappropriate political posts coming from our account last night. We believe we were hacked and are investigating.— NTRA (@NTRA) July 19, 2016
Not all people are buying it though, and it seems that the NTRA was not happy with that type of response either
@NTRA tbh you should have just apologized for the tweets and stopped. Claiming hacked makes you look even worse. #OldestExcuseInTheBook— amber (@RaysOfAmberSun) July 19, 2016
@RaysOfAmberSun Compromised? Let's go with compromised.— NTRA (@NTRA) July 19, 2016
Regardless of what you think of this election (and I personally have put my thoughts out there on Twitter), it shouldn't have happened. Congress can look at racing all they want... but an organization like NTRA and the Breeders' Cup should not tweet/retweet anything election political... period. The two don't mix at all.
