With both Del Mar and Saratoga's meets over for the Summer/year, it's time to refocus on the Fall meetings.
While Santa Anita will feature most likely California Chrome and Beholder in the Awesome Again and Zenyatta respectively, Frosted will try to rebound from his poor Woodward in my guess either the Kelso or Jockey Club Gold Cup. Shaman Ghost, the winner of the Woodward I'm assume is pointing towards the latter with maybe his stablemate Effinex? Meanwhile Cavorting showed she is just not a 1 turn horse at Saratoga. However, she will return to the 1 turn in the Beldame.
For the 3yo males, Nyquist is hoping for a rebound and Exaggerator is trying to avoid the term "slop specialist", all while Arrogate is waiting in the wings. For the girls the big race will actually be at Parx where the KY Oaks winner Cathryn Sophia will take on the undefeated Songbird in the Cotillion. Both sets of owners are PA/DE based so this is going to be a good one.
Flintshire continues to dominate the Male Turf division, the question will be how can he handle his former European competition? That is to be determined. Tepin will once again take on the boys, this time in the Woodbine Mile. She's already scared off the defending champion and this year's Arlington Million winner Mondialiste, who she beat last year in the BC. Lady Eli is no longer undefeated, but she is back in action with Catch a Glimpse and Time and Motion being some of her younger competitors.
For the male sprinters it's all about A.P. Indian, while the Female sprinters are still finding their way IMO. That being said look out for Carnia Mia who is possibly better at 1 turn off her very good performance in the Ballerina against older.
I can't wait to see what is falls into place this time of year.
