These days there seems to be a fan convention for everything. However, there was none for horse racing. That will change next year when Equestricon makes it's debut in Saratoga. The convention website is full of information that I'm sure will grow as the months go on.
I had been thinking of putting together something simlar myself a few years ago, but just really didn't know how to execute it well. There are of course are going to be negative thoughts on this, but for the most part the response seems to be positive at least on Twitter.
I would love to get onto one of the panels if possible, but if not I would likely go as a fan. Will keep everyone posted on what will be happening!
